Paul H. Flickinger, Jr.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated salutatorian from Allegheny High School in 1955. He married his high school sweetheart and the graduating class' valedictorian, Betty Layne.

In the early 1980s, his passion for painting began while his youngest was in elementary school. He experimented with 'splats' for an artistic effect and was obsessed with flowers as a primary subject. He was always proud of his "North Park" landscape.

He passed in December of 2003 in Pittsburgh. Betty passed in April of 2006. They are both missed.

E.C. Flickinger

Life appears as a string of ordinary, near random events with occasional brief moments of genius where it would seem that one must be guided by Divinity. To labor at art is in itself a failing. A few strokes of the brush or pen give life, but it takes all day to really make a mess. The je-ne-sais-quoi factor is just that. For if we knew, we could avoid all that wasted effort, not to mentioned the wasted paint, ink, and glossy photo paper. So on these walls, you may see that genius, but not the scrapped attempts. Thank God for digital photography or we all may have filed Chapter 11.

Born in Pennsylvania, graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, married, two children, not giving up the day job.

-E.C. Flickinger: Painter, Photographer, writer, poet, musician, parent, gambler. Risky business, all of it.

Sarah F. Wimberley

Born in Saugerties, New York, Sarah has been around and involved in art from a very young age. She is a photographer and a third-generation painter. Art has transformed the way she looks upon her own life, her community, and the world.

Formally trained at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and currently studying documentary photography at The Academy of Art, Sarah has learned even more from working professionally in the field as a wedding and portrait photographer. She is an active member in Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and Professional Photographers of America. She also documents local success stories and non-profits--some of those images can be seen here.

She projects concepts of man versus nature, abstract and purity of design, and simple elegance through her photography--and total chaos in her paintings.

Sarah currently lives in Raleigh, NC.
