Fay Krapf grew up in Tennessee, where she began her art as child, and developed and refined it college.
Her art found expression in the world of pottery in the 70s and 80’s, and her “studio in the woods” in
Maine became well know as a production pottery, gallery, and school for pottery apprentices.
Returning to her southern roots in the early 90s, Fay, now a Raleigh-based artist, shifted her focus from
pottery to paint. The core of her work is abstract often expressing a graceful flow of line and color.
She paints with acrylics and watercolor as well as mixed media and collage, enjoying the challenge and
uniqueness of each medium.
Describing her art, she says, “I listen to the inner inspiration that directs each brush stroke corralling
free form, flow, and the mingling of color to capture a mood, please the senses, and touch the heart with
delight.”
