MY OIL PAINTINGS STEM FROM MANY AREAS OF MY LIFE. AS A CHILD I HIKED THROUGH FORESTS WITH MY FATHER AND LEARNED TO APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY IN NATURE AND WILDLIFE. During my teenage years I spent many days basking in the sun on the carolina shores enjoying the ocean breeze and admiring the beauty of the vast ocean. After becoming a wife and mother, I found love expressed through a touch, a smile, a tear, and several simple expressions. These moments have influenced my art.
I place myself within each of my works in some way, whether it be watching a child's fascination with the simple things in life, admiring wildlife in natural surroundings, gazing out of a window to enjoy beautiful views, or expressing a passion within, through a simple figure. I have found that painting lets me express myself spiritually and emotionally, focusing on the inspiration that life has to offer.
